General Description:
The successful candidate will provide configuration management expertise to support the Air Force Civil Engineering (CE) Systems within the AFLCMC BES organization. The successful candidate will provide full-spectrum configuration management and Capability Delivery Team (CDT) services, ensuring compliance, consistency, and accuracy throughout the software lifecycle. This role requires strong communication and technical and leadership skills to support the planning, design, testing, documentation, and sustainment of CE automated systems at Maxwell AFB–Gunter Annex, Montgomery, AL.

Duties and responsibilities:
The successful candidate will manage and oversee the configuration change management process, ensuring documentation is clear, concise, and valid; perform and maintain Atlassian tool administration (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket), including workflow and project customization; conduct user access audits across Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Cloud One, Artifactory, Checkmarx, and any other environments where team members have access, inside or outside of the BES Atlassian Tool Set (BATS); define change implementation plans, assign tasks, and coordinate documentation updates; prepare and distribute data packages for customer review and collect responses; track configuration changes, expediting progress through workflows as needed; provide formatting, version control, and administrative support for contract-required documentation; develop, review, and maintain the Configuration Management Plan (CMP) across the software lifecycle; ensure compliance with USAF policies on handling technical data and proprietary information; oversee software tracking, version control, and release management; and provide configuration management leadership, process improvement recommendations, and team guidance.

Specialized Knowledge:
  • Understanding of and ability to maximize the efficient use of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
  • Demonstrated experience in an Agile environment, using Atlassian Confluence and Jira as primary documentation tools
  • Proven ability to perform independently on high-visibility, mission-critical programs
  • Other duties as assigned

Education:
Bachelor's degree (MA/MS preferred).

Professional Certifications:
None required.

Clearance:
Active Secret Clearance, or the ability to obtain.


Experience:
3–12 years of relevant experience

U.S. Citizen or Similar:
Must be a U.S. Citizen

Skills and Abilities:
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.

Must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities; familiarity with engineering practices, processes, and the interpretation of engineering drawings; interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams; and strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to present clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Working conditions, including location:
Fully remote.
Client duty hours are Monday through Friday.
